Who is eligible?
The PointDragon Programming Contest is open to everyone, novice and experienced developers alike. However, employees, former employees, and current and former partners and collaborators of GraphLogic Inc. are not eligible to enter the contest.
How do I register for PointDragon?
Register to use the PointDragon integrated development environment at www.pointdragon.com. You must provide valid information regarding your name, address, phone number, and e-mail.
How do I enter the contest?
Register for PointDragon portal and create an application of your choice using the PointDragon IDE. In the application manager you will see a button that allows you to submit your application to the contest.
When is my submission due?
June 30, 2008, however GraphLogic reserves the right to extend this date.
How many applications may I submit to the contest?
Only one application per person is permitted. If you improve your application or create another application, you may change your submission at any time, provided that you do so before June 30, 2008.
Can I use another platform to enter the contest?
No. The contest is specifically open only to applications created with the PointDragon IDE. We want you to experience the speed, simplicity, flexibility, and power of working with the PointDragon architecture.
Can I install PointDragon on my own server to create my application?
Yes, but a license is required. Besides, the PointDragon IDE is web-based, there's no need to install anything!
How will the winning entries be judged?
The main criteria for selection are creativity, functionality, utility, and overall quality of the application. The winning applications will not necessarily have broad applicability, however applications that can easily be modified and cross purposed into alternative uses may have an advantage.
Who will determine the winning entries?
The judging panel consists of experienced developers, several of whom are proficient PointDragon IDE architects.
How will the winners be notified?
The winners will be notified by phone and e-mail. Inaccurate contact information may disqualify potential winners; in which case, the prizes will go to other contestants.
Will I know which applications won?
Yes, the winning applications will be posted on the PointDragon portal website shortly after the winners are notified.
Can I use my application after I submit it to the contest?
Yes, you may use your application. Your application will be available for others to use as well.
I'm working on an application for my (boss, school group, church, club, etc.), and it's pretty slick. Can I submit it to the contest?
Yes, absolutely! The PointDragon architecture allows you to create useful applications that are powerful and easy to use in record time. Go ahead, impress the boss.
I'm working on an application as part of a school assignment; can I also submit it to the contest?
Yes, as long as it's ok with your school. PointDragon applications can be created quickly and easily - they make great school projects. Hey, maybe your professor will want to jump on the PointDragon IDE bandwagon!
